This month has flown by! I've introduced students to voting; each grade will be voting for their favorite Dr. Seuss book on our interactive bulletin board. As it fills up with votes, I'll tweet pictures. Each grade has its own colored dot; so we will be able to collect math data from it....it will be an exciting math lesson with a reading twist.
Last week was filled with activities...5th grade trip to Rock Eagle; a huge "Thank you" luncheon that we gave to our instructional paraprofessional staff (they're amazing!); and two first grade push-ins for Ms. Wells' class. Brain Building Tuesday was exciting with Dr. Seuss read alouds, Makerspace, Seuss voting, and book check-outs.
I'm thrilled for this coming week.....I've scheduled author Kishma Anthony to speak with kindergarten and first grade today. Her series, "Keeping Dylan Healthy" is inspiring to children and families. We look forward to her visit! I've also scheduled author/illustrator/homesteader Sherry Crelin to speak to second graders about her book, "My Chickens Lay Eggs" and the writing process. She'll be bringing one of her chickens!
Kindergarten and third grade will be visiting the media center for Brain Building....it will be a great Seuss day for them, too!
